Disclosure

This site is operated by a team affiliated with Metadata.io, one of the vendors covered in our comparisons [1]. Metadata.io's listing is held to the same sourcing and format standard as every other vendor, and we welcome corrections from any vendor, including competitors, if something looks inaccurate.

What that means in practice. Metadata.io appears on this site in exactly two places: the ZoomInfo vs Metadata comparison and the compare index, plus a single row at the bottom of the homepage ranking table, always labeled as sponsor. It is never rated above its public G2 score of 4.6 out of 5 [2]. It is never presented as a replacement for ZoomInfo's contact database, because it is not one; it is a paid campaign activation platform that consumes data from ZoomInfo and its competitors. We link to Metadata's own comparison page [3] so you can read their framing rather than ours. We do not publish Metadata's internal business metrics, and we do not accept payment from any other vendor for placement, ranking, or review content.

Why publish this site at all, given the affiliation? Because "ZoomInfo competitors" is a question a lot of B2B teams ask, the existing answers are mostly vendor blog posts ranking themselves first, and a sourced, tabular, plainly disclosed comparison is more useful than another one of those. You should still read us skeptically. Every claim links to a public source so you can check it.

Methodology: how we rank and review

What we source and from where

Every vendor claim on this site links to one of four kinds of public source: the vendor's own pricing or product page, a G2 product or category page [4][5], another review aggregator such as TrustRadius or Capterra [7][8], or a published document such as a filing, a press release, or a commissioned study that is available in full. When a vendor does not publish pricing, we say so and cite the buyer-reported ranges from review sites rather than inventing a number [6]. Where a claim comes from our own reasoning rather than a source, it is phrased as our opinion.

How the ranking works

The homepage ranks twelve ZoomInfo competitors by how often each is a credible full replacement for ZoomInfo, weighted by three factors: whether pricing is public and how low the entry point is; G2 review volume and rating as a proxy for adoption and satisfaction [4]; and breadth, meaning how much of ZoomInfo's surface (contacts, dials, company data, intent, workflow) the tool covers. Rank is not a quality score. A tool ranked ninth can be the best choice for a specific team, and the per-vendor sections and use-case pages say when that is the case.

How comparison pages work

Each head-to-head page follows the same structure: a one-paragraph answer, a side-by-side table with a source column, sections on pricing, data, workflow, and fit, a verdict, and a FAQ. Both vendors in a comparison are held to the same evidence standard. We do not award a "winner" overall; we say who should choose which.

What we do not do

We do not run paid placement. We do not use affiliate links; links to vendor pricing pages are plain links with a nofollow attribute. We do not scrape or republish reviews; we link to them. We do not invent statistics for any vendor, including our sponsor. We do not deep-link into vendors' trademarked comparison pages except Metadata's, which is disclosed.

How we handle pricing

Pricing on this site is quoted from vendor pricing pages as of the update date shown on each page, and we state the billing basis (monthly, annual, per user, per credit) because the same vendor can look twice as expensive depending on which one you read. For quote-based vendors, including ZoomInfo, Cognism, 6sense, Demandbase, and Metadata, we report the pricing structure and any buyer-reported ranges with their sources, and we explicitly avoid stating a single price. Vendors change prices often; if you find a number here that no longer matches the vendor's page, tell us and we will update it. Our full treatment of ZoomInfo's structure is on the ZoomInfo pricing page.

How we handle ratings

We use G2 ratings as the primary public signal because G2 has the largest review volume in the sales intelligence category [4] and publishes head-to-head comparison pages that reviewers can verify. We report ratings as G2 shows them and link to the product page rather than restating counts that change daily. We do not produce our own numeric scores. When we describe a tool as "highly rated" or "mixed," that reflects the G2 distribution at the time of writing and is linked.

Corrections and vendor contact

If you work for a vendor covered here, including ZoomInfo, and something is wrong, outdated, or unfairly framed, we want to hear it. We will correct factual errors and add a note when a correction changes a verdict. We will not remove accurate, sourced criticism, and we will not adjust rankings in exchange for anything. The same offer applies to buyers: if your experience contradicts a claim here, send us the evidence. Corrections are reflected in the updated date on each page.

The network this site belongs to

ZoomInfoCompetitors.com is one of ten sites in an independent B2B marketing research network operated by the same team, each covering a distinct question: ABM platforms (abmplatforms.com), ABM software rankings (bestabmsoftware.com), intent data (intentdatatools.com and bestintentdataproviders.com), 6sense alternatives (6sensealternatives.com), ABM advertising (abmadvertisingplatform.com), benchmarks (abmbenchmarks.com), agencies (bestabmagencies.com), and salaries (b2bmarketingsalaries.com). Every site carries the same disclosure. Content is written independently per site, not duplicated across domains.

How to use this site

Start with the ranked comparison if you want the landscape, the alternatives page if you know what you are trying to replace, or a head-to-head such as ZoomInfo vs Apollo or ZoomInfo vs Clay if you have a shortlist. The buyer's guide covers how to run an evaluation and what to negotiate. The FAQ answers the short questions. Then go read the G2 pages we link to, because thousands of reviews beat any one editor.

The standard we hold ourselves to

Every claim sourced. Every price attributed and dated. Sponsor disclosed on every page and never rated above its public score. Corrections accepted from anyone, including competitors. If we fail that standard anywhere on this site, that is a bug, and we would rather hear about it than not. Disclosure practices follow FTC endorsement guidance [9].

Frequently asked questions

Who runs ZoomInfoCompetitors.com?

A team affiliated with Metadata.io, a B2B campaign activation vendor. The affiliation is disclosed on every page, Metadata is held to the same sourcing standard as every other vendor, and it is never rated above its public G2 score.

Is Metadata.io ranked first because it sponsors the site?

No. Metadata appears last in the homepage table, labeled as sponsor, because it is not a contact database and is not a direct ZoomInfo replacement. It appears on only one comparison page, which links to Metadata's own comparison so you can read their framing separately.

Do you accept payment from other vendors?

No. There is no paid placement, no affiliate links, and no sponsored reviews other than the disclosed Metadata affiliation.

How do you decide the ranking?

By how often a tool is a credible full ZoomInfo replacement, weighted by public pricing, G2 review volume and rating, and breadth of coverage. Rank is not a quality score; the per-vendor sections say when a lower-ranked tool is the right choice.

How do I submit a correction?

If you are a vendor or a buyer and something here is wrong, send the evidence. Factual errors are corrected and reflected in the page's updated date. Accurate sourced criticism is not removed.

Disclosure. ZoomInfoCompetitors.com is an independent editorial directory operated with sponsorship from Metadata.io, a vendor in this category. Metadata is held to the same review format and scoring as every other vendor here, and never given a rating above its public G2 score.
